October 24 Meeting at 3PM :

The October Meeting will be held at 3pm on Thursday Oct. 24th, at the Lost Dutchman R.V. Resort address is 400 N. Plaza Drive, Apache Junction, 85120. This will be our kick-off meeting for the 2024-25 Season. Be sure to attend and get an update on the upcoming season. This will be our membership drive meeting in preparation for the Fall Workshop on Nov. 4th. We will be reviewing our Bi-Laws and needing a vote to approve them. Then we will be able to post our bi-laws on the website.

We will be having a discussion on staying connect and how we can use the VALSD as a means of networking and sharing ideas. As a special treat we will be having a seminar on Charcuterie Board Ideas, and you might even win one.

The meeting will end blending into a happy hour with the residents of the LDRV. They have a couple new residents from Canada who are very good entertainers. Ken and Valorie will be sharing their music, some fun and laughter as they entertain all of us during this happy hour. You might even want to consider them at one of your next function. The LDRV is a BYOB-everage community, so either bring a small cooler or have one of your friends bring something to enjoy at 4:30. What a way to kick off the 2024-25 season of VALSD fellowship.

Your board of directors met monthly over the summer. We have started setting up the meetings for next season. First, we have kicked the box to the curb and changed the way we have done things in the past, and we hope to make this a very exciting year for all of you as members of VALSD.  In the past our monthly meetings have been first thing in the morning with it necessary for us to return to our respective resorts and then back to our office for a full day of work.  This year we have decided to have our monthly meetings at 3pm, therefore we can leave our office early and be done with our day. This would allow us to not feel rushed.  When we are done, we can (A.) go home and relax, or (B.) go out with others for a beverage or a bite to eat and spend a little time socializing and getting to know each other a little better.

Monthly meetings are scheduled for Thursday Oct. 24, at the Lost Dutchman R.V. Resort in Apache Junction. The workshop will be held on Monday Nov. 4 at the Silver Star Theater 5247 E. Brown Road in Mesa. The Christmas party/meeting will be on Monday Dec. 9.  In 2025 we will meet on Tuesday Jan. 21, Monday Feb. 10, Thursday Mar. 13, and then the Showcase Thursday April 10th.  We will be looking for a host for the various monthly meetings. Please look for the upcoming membership and fall registration form. As mentioned above we have stepped out of the box so this year we will have the workshop starting a little later followed by lunch with entertainment. Then we will have our speakers and vendor sessions, with their presentations and finish with a food expo and happy hour.

Mountain Brook R.V. Resort in Gold Canyon has offered to host our Annual Spring Showcase, so we have plenty of time to plan and organize this great event.  I believe Tracy Jennings has already offered to help chair this event once again.

Please be watching our website for further information, as we continue to update information throughout the summer.

Hope you are having a great summer!                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Bob Stoecker – President VALSD
